500-(500*0.25)= 375 is what she got after taking a 25% loss
Now:
500+(500*0.38)= 690 is how much she would sell the remaining 500 to make 38%.

The remaining  of goods should be sold for  to realize a gain of 38% on the entire number of goods purchased
