Question 1005624: Two thousand people live in business village of which 55% were male. The male population earned 5% and the female population earned 8% on an investment of rs. 50 each. Find the change in the % profit of the village if the ratio of male to female gets reversed the next year and the population remains the same.

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
currently:

the males earn .55 * 2000 * .05 * 50 = 2750.
the females earn .45 * 2000 * .08 * 50 = 3600
the village earns 2750 + 3600 = 6350
if the ratio of male and female gets reversed then:

the males earn .45 * 2000 * .05 * 50 = 2250.
the females earn .55 * 2000 * .08 * 50 = 4400.
the village earns 2250 + 4400 = 6650.
