Question 1001893: Solve x: x/6 + 2/3 = x/2 - 5/6
Sorry I couldn't find the right topic, thanks in advance!

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve x:
The common denominator is 6, multiply the equation by 6
6* + 6* = 6* - 6*
cancel the denominators and you have
x + 2(2) = 3x - 5
x + 4 = 3x - 5
Combine like terms
4 + 5 = 3x - x
9 = 2x
divide both sides by 2
x = 4.5
