Why must the base and height of a parallelogram intersect at a right angle?
The altitude (or height) of a parallelogram is the perpendicular distance (perpendicular line segments form 90 degree angle, or perpendicular lines- means lines that form right angles) from the base to the opposite side (which may have to be extended).
