Question 861128: The question gives me four points and I have to plot them. They are: A(-2,4) B(4,10) C(4,-4) D(-2,-10). Then it asks if the shape made is a parallelogram. I said no since the opposite sides are not parallel and not the same length. Then it asks me to find the coordinates of the point where the diagonals intersect. This is the part I would like some help on. Do I need to find the distances of the lines first? (and if I do, could you please provide the formula?) It would be great if you could answer this before nine o'clock tonight, April 7th. A(-2,4) C(4,-4) length 10 midpoint (1, 0)
y = 4/3-(4 x)/3
B(4,10) D(-2,-10)
length 2 sqrt(109)=20.8806
midpoint (1, 0)
y = (10 x)/3-10/3
y = 4/3-(4 x)/3
find where they have the same solution
it looks like their midpoint is the same point.
(1, 0)
Hi,
Re TY Simply plotted points at was directed,
connected those points with the diagonal lines
and then saw that the lines intersected at (1,0)
diangonals Intersect at P(1,0)
