The great thing about a rhombus?
It is a parallelogram with four equal sides!
So it MUST be true that:
and
It is also true that:
etc., but that is not nearly as useful (even though you could still solve for x and y using the right methods).
So let's use those first two equations to solve for x and y:

If you check these answers, you will find that all four sides equal 18.
And that is a comforting thing!
