Question 42957: Are the following lines parallel, perpendicular, or neither?
L1 with equation x - 6y = 24
L2 with equation 6x + y = 6
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - 6y = 24 becomes
-6y = -x + 24
y = (1/6)x - 4
and
6x + y = 6 becomes
y = -6x + 6
Since their slopes are negative reciprocals, they are
perpendicular lines...
