Question 284155: How do I find the values of a & b that would make the quadrilateral a parallelogram:
2a+6,6b-a,3a-10,5a+1

we would need sets of sides that are equal.
2a+6=3a-10
6b-a=5a+1
a = 16, b = 97/6
they don't work out so well
but neither do
2a+6= 6b-a,
5a+1=3a-10
a = -11/2, b = -7/4
2a+6=5a+1,
6b-a=3a-10
this is all that good either but
a = 5/3, b = -5/9
We can't have negative values so it must be the first grouping
