Question 197966: In the parallelogram, the length of AE is 6, length of BC is 9, and the length of DC is 4. Find the area.
I know the base x length is for the area of a normal parallelogram but what about the extra base? Thanks.
Mike

The area of a parallelogram is the measure of a base times the measure of the height. The height is the perpendicular distance between the base and its corresponding parallel side.

You didn't describe your parallelogram well enough to be able to determine what parts of the figure are represented by the three given segments.
