Question 1196845: Given the points (1,4), (3,6), (1,0) and (3,2), graph to prove it is a parallelogram. After graphing, find the coordinates of the same parallelogram after translating it two units to the left and four units down.

Graphing the points does not prove anything....
The figure is a parallelogram because (1,0) and (1,4) determine a vertical segment of length 4 and (3,2) and (3,6) do also. If opposite sides of a quadrilateral are parallel and congruent, the figure is a parallelogram.
And graphing doesn't help find the coordinates of the points after translating the figure 2 to the left and 4 down. Find the coordinates by subtracting 2 from the x coordinate and subtracting 4 from the y coordinate for each of the four points.
e.g., (1,4) --> (-1,0)
You can do the others.
