L + W + L + W = 46    (perimeter)


2L + 2W = 46


L + W = 23


(W+3) + W = 23


2W + 3 = 23


2W = 23 - 3 = 20  ====>  W =  = 10.


The width = 10 cm.  Hence, the length = 10 + 3 = 13 cm.


Then the area is 10*13 = 130 cm^2.
