The slope formula is:



1. Use the slope formula the find the slope of AB.
2. Use the slope formula the find the slope of CD.

Those should be equal (4/3) which shows that AB is parallel to CD.

3. Use the slope formula the find the slope of AD.
4. Use the slope formula the find the slope of BC.

Those should be equal (0) which shows that AD is parallel to BC.

A quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel is a parallelogram.
