in a parallelogram, opposite sides are parallel to each other and they are congruent.

since AB is opposite CD and AD is opposite BC, you get:

3x-5 = x+7 and you get y+3 = 2y-7

solve for x to get x = 6

solve for y to get y = 10

3x-5 becomes 18-5 = 13
x+7 becomes 6+7 = 13

y+3 becomes 10+3 = 13
2y-7 becomes 20-7 = 13

looks like all sides are congruent, therefore your parallelogram is a rhombus.
