And you didn't describe how the kite is inscribed into the square.
It might be done by different ways.

The perimeter of the kite is 8sqart%282%29 and the area is 8cm².
here is how to work it out.
since the kite is inscribed in a square of 4cm of which the edge of the kite is in the midpoint of the line that made up the square,note that this edge divides the line into 2cm by 2cm to make a total of 4cm.
use pythagoras theorem to find the sides of the kite which is 4root2,the add up the value for the sides of the kite to get 8root2.
for the area,use hero's formula to find that of a trianle,then....
