Hi there,
If 3/5 is the average of 3 fractions
then 3/5 x 3 must equal the original total
= 9/5
3/4 + 2/3 + x = 9/5
Common denominator = 60
(45 + 40 + 60x)/60 = 108/60
85 + 60x = 108
60x = 108 - 85
60x = 23
x = 23/60
This is the fraction required.
Proof:
3/4 + 2/3 + 23/60
Denominator = 60
(45 + 40 + 23)/60
= 108/60
Cancelled down
= 9/5
Hope this helps:-)
