Question 962747: Hi i am having trouble with this problem
y-y/y+1=1/y+1
Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
multiply the equation by (y+1)
(y+1)*y - (y+1)* = (y+1)*
Cancel the denominators
y(y+1) - y = 1
y^2 + y - y = 1
y^2 = 1
y =
y = +/- 1
however
y = +1 is the only solution (-1 give division by 0)
