Question 920022: (3)/(y-1)+(y+3)/(y)-(2)/(y^2-1)
make into one fraction

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(3)/(y-1)+(y+3)/(y)-(2)/(y^2-1)
make into one fraction
-----
lcd = y(y-1)(y+1)
-----
Convert each fraction to having that lcd::
[3y(y+1)]/lcd + [(y+3)(y^2-1)]/lcd - [2y]/lcd
--------------
Combine over the lcd::
[3y + (y+3)(y^2-1) - 2y]/lcd
---------------
Simplify::
[y^3 + 3y^2 - 3]/lcd
------------------
