how many numbers are there between 400 and 600 which begins or end with 5.
one of the popular users answer the questions but i couldn't ask further queries there(due to being new to algebra.com , i am not much familiar with website UI).therefore i create another question.
now my question is how to solve this one
how many numbers are there between 4000 and 6000 which begins or end with 5.
i'm asking this because i want to know solve such questions using a formula or other trick.i don't want to solve it manually as you know , its time consuming.

6000-4000=2000 it can help but we know that between these two numbers is 5000
so 4000<5000-5999<6000 and 5000-5999 are 1000 numbers so the other one thousand left are numbers that start with 4 so 1000 divided by 5= 200 so the answer is 1200 numbers
