Make the -9 and the 8 into fractions by putting
1 underneath:

Now notice that the answer is going to be positive because

(-)(+)(-) is +

The 9 on the top and the 6 on the bottom have a common
factor of 3, so we divide 9 by 3 and get 3 and divide
6 by 3 and get 2:

Then you can divide the 2 in the bottom into the 8 on top,
getting 4 on top

So it's just 3×4×5 = 12×5 = 60 because the 1's on the bottom
just give 1, and dividing by 1 just gives the same thing, 60.

To deal with just the signs:
( - ) x ( - ) = ( + )
( - ) x ( + ) = ( - )
-----------------
If your factors have an odd number of
minuses, then you get a minus result:
( - ) x ( - ) x ( + ) x ( - ) = ( - )
---------------------------------
If your factors have an even number of
minuses, then you get a plus result:
( - ) x ( + ) x (- ) = (+ )
----------------------------------

Multiply the 1st two factors:

Now divide the into

Now use the multiplication rule for signs

Hope this helps
