Answer by wilft1(217) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first, find the common demonimators, easiest way is the just multiply the two together,
5/6 + 1/8
6 x 8 = 48
now, to get the numerators....
we multiplied 6 by 8, the numerator in this fraction is 5, so multiply 5 x 8 = 40
40/48
our second fraction, we multiplied 8 by 6, so lets get the numerator by multiplying 6 x 1 = 6
so, our fractions are 40/48 + 6/48 = 46/48
