Two ways:

3 11/15 + 4 7/15
= 56/15 + 67/15 {changed to improper fractions}
= 123/15 {combined numerators over common denominator}
= 8 3/15 {changed to mixed number}
= 8 1/5 {reduced}
or

3 11/15 + 4 7/15
= 7 18/15 {combined numerators over common denominator}
= 8 3/15 {simplified}
= 8 1/5 {reduced}

covert to improper fraction


Since the denominators are same add up the numerators





divide to get mixed fraction

reduce 3/15 to lowest fraction
