Question 741113: 12-2(6)/1-5
Answer by only4christ2(12)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use order of operations:
Remove parenthesis first
12-2(6) / 1-5
12-12 / -4 now divide: -12/-4 = 3 ( I am assuming that 1-5 is together as if it were in a parenthesis); if not, I will work it as if there is none
12 + 3
15
OR
12 - 12 / 1 - 5...here, you would divide next: -12/1 = -12
12 - 12 - 5...now work from left to right
0 - 5 = -5
