Question 734327: x/6 + 6/7(6x + 7)=898 If anyone could possibly explain some of the steps or where to begin i'd greatly appreciate it thanks.
Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+ (6x + 7)=898
get rid of those annoying denominators
multiply equation by the least common multiple of 6 & 7, which is 42
42* + 42*(6x + 7)= 42(898)
:
cancel the denominators
7x + 6*6(6x+7) = 37716
7x + 36(6x+7) = 37716
:
multiply what's inside the brackets
7x + 216x + 252 = 37716
223x = 37716 - 252
223x = 37464
x =
x = 168

Alot of math here, check the solution in the original problem
+ (6(168) + 7)=898
28 + (1008 + 7)=898
28 + (1015)=898
28 + 870 = 898
