(Multiply by the denominator to eliminate the denominator, but remember to do so on both sides. Then eliminate the number in front of the letter by division.)

The 1st numbers are fractions ie 2a over 3.

2a/3=-2 now we need to cross multiply thus: 2a/3=-2/1 (2a*1)=(-2*3)
2a=-2*3
2a=-6
a=-6/2
a=-3 answer.
