you multiply the denominator by 1 and ad to the numerator which gives 3 over the denominator 2 which gives (3/2+3/4)*12 outside.then you cross multiply which gives you (6/2+12/4).6+12 gives 18 and 2+4 gives 6.there
fore,18 divided by 6 which is also (18/6) which is =3.the other 3 multiplied by the outer 12 gives 36 as your final answer
