addition/subtraction
so:
(5+4)2+[14/(6/3)-2(7-9)]-8x2=
(9)2 + [14/2 - 2(-2)] -16 =
18 + [7-(-4)] - 16
18 + 11 - 16
29-16

So your answer is 13.
