First: there is too much of it (60-70% of the earth's surface is wet).
Second: it is very deep in many places (miles deep) & it takes very special & expensive equipment, along with brave men/women to go to the bottom.
Third, the ocean floor is ever changing. There are thermal cracks across most of the major oceans.
Fourth: we are spending almost all our exploration dollars in our space program to the deterement of the ocean investigation. We, someday may need to not only explore the bottom of the oceans, but may have to live there if we mess up our atmosphere with nuclear or natural contaminants which make living on the land impossible.
Hope this gives you some ideas but I don't have too many scientific knowledge on this subject.

Hello!

The answer for your question goes this way. If you have any more queries you can mail me at this id: tutyfruty9@yahoo.com

I shall answer you in time.

Many strange creatures and unusual geological formations occur under the surface of the ocean. Deep sea trenches drop to 5 miles deep and fold mountain ranges higher than the Himalayas that are present. These deep sea trenches have not been explored throughly underwater volcanic eruptions and dense kelp forests is a major hurdle.

Theory of Plate Tectonics or Tectonic movements are still in the research area of the scientists. The deepest trench known as " The Mariana Trench" in the Pacific Ocean is 11,000 kilometres below the sea's surface, which looks tranquil, create typhoons blow and tsunamis strike the coast.

Since, 90% of the ocean floor has not been explored by man till today it remains largely an unknown region of the world.

Hence, much of the ocean floor remains as an unknown region of Earth..!!!!
