Cancel the common factor (8 and 2)

Multiply.

Then, you can choose to reorder the polynomial like so, or leave it how it is above, because it won't simplify any more.

what is the answer supposed to be?
what is the topic (factor the expression, simplify it, solve for x or y, etc)?
what course is this from (algebra 1, algebra 2, pre-calculus)?
what is being divided by 2xy.
what choice is the expression?
first choice:

               14x^3y - 6xy^2 + 8x^4y^5
                               ---------
                                  2xy

second choice:
               14x^3y - 6xy^2 + 8x^4y^5
             -----------------------------
                       2xy

You really need to make it clear what it is that you want to do. I'm going to guess that you want to simplify the rational expression:



Each of the numerator terms contains a factor equal to the denominator:





Eliminate factors common to both numerator and denominator
