-14 is:

an integer by definition.

NOT an interger because there is no such thing.

NOT a natural number (which is either the positive integers or the non-negative integers)

a rational number because it can be expressed as the quotient of two integers, e.g. .

NOT an irrational number because the intersection of the set of rational numbers with the set of irrational numbers is the empty set.

-14 may or may not be a whole number depending on the definition of whole numbers that you are using.

Some authors define the natural numbers as the set of positive integers, i.e. and equate the sets of natural numbers and whole numbers.

Some authors define the natural numbers as the set of non-negative integers. i.e. and equate the sets of natural numbers and whole numbers.

Some authors define the natural numbers as the set of positive integers and the whole numbers as the set of non-negative integers, i.e. whole numbers include zero while natural numbers do not.

In any of these cases, -14 is NOT a whole number. However some authors equate the set of whole numbers with the set of integers. In this case -14 IS a whole number.
