Tell "your son" this:

Multiply both sides by the product of the two denominators:

Get rid of the parentheses and then collect like terms:

Solve for

and check your answer. And the next time you try to pass yourself off as "Dad" or "Mom" at least use the spell checker so that we have some small chance of suspending disbelief.
