Question 5054: 2y(4-x)= x/2
i know y=1/4 but i dont know how i got there.

neither do i because you have 2 things you do not know...x and y and yet you manage to find one of them. This is literally an historic moment in maths as you have managed something that mathematicians could not do previously. Or perhaps, you have it wrong ;-)

--> for 2 unknowns... you need 2 equations, at least. Unless you want to ask something like, what is the value of y when x=1 etc?

Let us know what the question really says.
