the law of contrapoisiton states:
if a implies b, then not b implies not a.
the statement and its contrapositive are equivalent.
this means that:
if the statement is true, then the contrapositive is also true.
if the statement is false, then the contrapositive is also false.
a -> b is the statement
~b -> ~a is the contrapositive
