Question 44122: How do you find the remainder from division for the numerator when converting improper fractions into proper fractions?
Answer by fractalier(2101) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let me show you by example...
Let's say we wish to convert 35/8 to a mixed number...
So we divide 8 into 35 and get 4 with a remainder of 3...
We then state our answer as
4 3/8
Notice that the divisor (8) remains the denominator and our remainder from the division becomes our numerator...
