Hi
Using the point-slope formula,
(1, -9) and (3, -1).
m = -1 -(-9) / 3-1 = 8/2 = 4
m = 4
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y = 4x + b using ordered pair pt(3,-1) to solve for b
-1 = 4*3 + b
-13 = b
y = 4x - 13
