Question 387618: I am trying to solve this problem: Divide 17/8 divided by 4/9
Supposedly the answer is a big 15 little 3 over a big 3 little 2.
I have tried to solve it by putting 17/8 * 9/4 = 153/32
Then I went further and divided that to get 4 25/32.
I also divded 17/8 and 4/9 and got 2.125 and 0.444 and got 4.786036
Then I tried 17 / 4 = 4.25 and 8 /9 = 0.888 and then and still got 4.786036
Then 17/8 * 9/4 and got 153/32 = 4.78125
It seems like the answer has a whole number and fraction on top and a whole number and fraction on bottom.
I do not understand how the answer is big 15 little 3 over big 3 little 2. I am not sure exactly what type of math question it is. All I can figure is dividing fractions.
Thanks in advance!!!
