When math talks about numbers the opposite
of "a" is "-a".

In addition, it's the additive inverse.
The number you add to another number to get zero.
Example: 3+ (-3)=0
So -3 is the additive inverse of 3.

In multipication, it's the multiplicative inverse.
The number you multiply another number by to get 1.
Example: 5*(1/5)=1
So (1/5) is the multiplicative inverse of 5.
