Like terms are variable expressions that have the same variable with the same exponent. For example, 4x and 5x are like terms. and are not like terms. If you have like terms then you can combine them.
3w+w=4w First step
4w+4/13w Next step-here you have a whole number added to a fraction so you need a common denominator to add the two numbers. The common denominator is 13. So
