Answer by JBarnum(2146)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first thing is to subtract 5 from both sides of = sign
with a fraction before X you would want to multiply by its reciprical to both sides

find the Lowest Common Denominator for the 2 fractions in the numerator 9*4=36 and 12*3=36 so 36 is the LCD to change the fractions multiply by the common one to get 36 as the denominator
multiply across numerator
subtract the numerator fractions
when dividing by a fracton it is the same as multiplying by the fractions reciprical
cross cancel what u can
multiply accros
