I am probably older than you.
You actually had algebra but didn't know it.
Remember the arithmetic problems
5+2=?
or
5+?=5
That is algebra.
but you used ? instead of letters.
In answer to your question.
Easier than what?
Equations use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
All math is based on those operations. That's all.
Nothing to be afraid of.
The problem is that many students never learned multiplication and division properly.
