Question 279389: how can I turn 6/8 and 6/9 into a decimal?
Answer by JBarnum(2146) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first reduce them
6/8=3/4=.75 when u see 4ths think of a dollar made up of quarters 1/4=.25 2/4=.50 3/4=.75 4/4=1.00
6/9=2/3=.6666 which u need to memorize 1/3=.3333 2/3=.6666 3/3=1
with 5ths i think of percentages since 20 is 1/5 of 100 so 1/5=.20 2/5=.40 3/5=.60 4/5=.80 5/5=1
for 6ths-9ths i just use a calculator or just memorize the fractions
