The least Common Denominator (or LCD) is the smallest whole number you can put
in the bottom of BOTH fractions and still be able to put a whole number (no fractions) in the top of both fractions here's a list of common denominators
for these two fractions. can you spot the LCD?
1/8.................3/4
2/16..............12/16
4/32..............24/32
100/800........600/800
1/8.................6/8
11/88.............66/88
ALL the fractions in the first column equal 1/8
ALL the fractions in the second column equal 3/4
100/800 and 600/800 have common denominators, but they are not LEAST
only the pair 1/8 and 6/8 have least common denominators.
