1/2 of a pizza is the same as 3/6 of a pizza
1/3 of a pizza is the same as 2/6 of a pizza.
Now if you add these two partial pizzas you'll get 3/6+2/6=5/6 of a pizza.
Perchance you try to add/multiply 1/2 & 1/3 you could get 2/5, 2/6 or 1/6 depending on if you multiply or add.
