Question 150326: v/2 - v/3 = 2

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
v/2-v/3=2
To add the left hand fractions you need to find a common denominator that is evenly divisable by both 2 & 3. [6 IS THE ANSWER].
v/2=3v/6
v/3=2v/6
Thus you have the following:
(3v/6-2v/6)=2
(3v-2v)/6=2
v/6=2
v=2*6
v=12 answer.
proof
12/2-12/3=2
6-4=2
2=2
