Answer by fners(16)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You need to make all the denominators (bottom numbers) match before you can add.
(7/20)*(8/8)= 56/160
(3/8)*(20/20)= 60/160
(4/5)*(32/32)= 128/160
(56+60+128)/160= 244/160
(8/8 is equal to 1, so you can multiply any number by it without changing the number. same with 2/20, 32/32, etc.)
To reduce, try dividing both the numerator and denominator by 2:
122/80
both numbers are still even, so you can do it again:
81/40
can you think of any number that is a factor of both 81 and 40?
i can't, so we are done. The answer is reduced.
