The value of the fraction is    3%2F8   - it is  GIVEN  in the condition.

The difference (denominator-numerator) is 8-3 = 5.

Multiply numerator and denominator by 5, and you will get the same value of the fraction

with the difference between the denominator and numerator of 40 - 15 = 25.

So the form of the fraction the problem asks for is 15%2F40. ANSWER

Since the value of the fraction is 3/8, represent it by %283x%29%2F%288x%29

Then, since the denominator is 25 more than the numerator,

8x-3x=25
5x=25
x=5

The fraction is %283x%29%2F%288x%29=15%2F40
