And because of this pandemic we are currently facing, social distancing of about 1 1/2m should be observe. When you arrive, you notice that the last man in the line is already at the gate. the distance from the gate to the office is 33 and 1/2 meters.

that equals 33.5 meters.

each person in line must have a distance of 1 and 1/2 meters between that person and another in line.

that equals 1.5 meters.

divide 33.5 by 1.5 to get 22.33333333 distances of 1.5 meters each.

that means you have 22 distances of 1.5 meters each plus a remainder of .5 meters.

since the last person is at the gate, then the first person must be .5 meters from the office.

22 distances of 1.5 meters each means there are 23 people in line.

when you arrive, you become the 24th person in line.

that's what i think happens here with the numbers provided.
