Find the value of

when

mult both sides by x
x + 1 = 2x
1 = 2x - x
x = 1
therefore
= = 2

Solution 

From    +  = 2  you have   + 1 = 2x,  and then


     = 0,

     = 0.


Hence,  x = 1.


Then   +  = 1 + 1 = 2.
