    From 9 different letters, you can make 9*8*7 = 504 different 3-letter words.



2.  The word  NEIGHBOUR  has 4 vowels, all of them are different.

    From 4 different vowels, you can make 4*3*2 = 24 different 3-letter words consisting of 3 vowels each.
