Question 1107043: Talulah is sewing some quilts. She finished 2 1/2 quilts in the first month and 2/3 of the remainder in the second month. She had 1 1/2 quilts left to sew in the third month. How many quilts did she sew in the 3 months?

The 1 1/2 quilts she sewed in the 3rd month
must have been 1/3 of remaining quilts after
1st month.
3 times 1 1/2 = 4 1/2 was the remaining number
----------------
The 2nd month was 2/3 of 4 1/2, or 3 quilts
----------------
2 1/2 + 3 + 1 1/2 = 7 quilts in 3 months
----------------
