Salary x

3/10 spent; 7/10 is left

4/7 of the 7/10 used for transport, so 3/7 of the 7/10 = 3/10 is left

5/6 of the 3/10 is spent on food, so 1/6 of the 3/10 = 1/20 is left

The $500 that is left is 1/20 of his salary; his salary is 20*$500 = $10,000.
